earring holder
colin is constantly yelling at me because my shit is ALWAYS lying around EVERYWHERE. i have to say, i can't blame him (there colin, i said it.). im taking small steps to rid myself of my hoarder tendencies, get rid of crapola and organize what i am going to keep. therefore, i started small and made myself a an earring holder using a broken screen (thanks to belle the dog) and an old picture frame.
final pic:
things i learned:
1.) you need to sand any finished material or else the paint will just fall off...specifically when you remove blue painter's tape.

2.) when you use blue painter's tape, you need to make sure it is tightly secured in all the grooves or else it will bleed.
3.) i need to stop buying/making turquoise and red earrings.
my garden is working part 2
the daisies are a little out of control and taking over my roses...the salvia def needs to be cut back too! i'll get to that some day...

sack it to me
next project in the works...my sissy asked me to make her this sack dress. it retails for $280 because it's "handmade in brooklyn" and therefore better than everything else in the world because it's made from brooklyn water, organic, vegan, non-mainstream linen and a touch of a hipster. Mine retails for $2.80.
i drink too much wine...
...but might as well make a project out of it! you're standard DIY corkboard made out of wine corks. just take out the glass to a frame and glue away...gorilla glue worked like a charm! (sorry my bestie works for them so of course I need to plug their greatness).

diy workstation..workin it and workin it and workin it good...
i'm getting pretty serious with my diy-ing and colin has just about had it with my materials (or as colin would say hoarded crap) all over my dining room table. my house is the size of a shoebox so it makes it hard to break bread together as it is, let alone with shiz everywhere. so with a budget of $200 i decided to create a mecca of creativeness in one of our guestrooms...actually it's more of a storage room with a futon...neither here nor there.
here are some of my inspirations...
so it's a work in progress....pics to come.

DIY: Real, Real Easy Terrarium
this was v. easy. like too easy so i'm sure it will die. all i did was buy some rocks, potting soil and plant from home depot. put about an inch of rocks for drainage and then plant the plant. i wish the plant didn't come over the top of the pot thing but there weren't any shorter plants. and how about that aloe...
outdoor cushions 101
have you ever noticed how freaking expensive outdoor cushions are? it's ridiculous. well i now know why. because they are a BITCH to make. i found this diy idea on sew, mama sew! so decided to try it out thinking, how hard can this be? (and more importantly, maybe i can save some money) shit was hard. annoying. frustrating. i am still trying to work out the kinks in using my sewing machine and it kept jamming like a mofo. so i googled it...something about wrong tension, etc. but alas, i ended up with a cushion, albeit a trapezoid cushion but a cushion nontheless...

uncle lou cleans up his act
i saw this on etsy so i decided to make it myself with some fleece rather than pay 12 bucks plus shipping and handling. very basic, very easy. i used a button to fasten it around his collar. not so sure uncle lou likes it though...i think he looks like a jaunty gentleman.
cleaned up your act, now go clean up your room.
don't mind the receipt, that's for a different post.
'ello old chap.
nervous bow tie wearer.
cleaned up your act, now go clean up your room.
